We did several gigs and tours with the Chili Peppers. Guns & Roses had just been signed. I thought RHCP sounded awful in Ackerman Ballroom, which was a very unforgiving, hard-surfaced box. The Dickies weren't much better at that gig. Even though GnR are not my cuppa, they had undeniable swagger & charisma. You could tell they were going to be big. What amazed me was that I saw Jesus Jones in that same room a year later and they sounded like a record.
